Geonics EM38-MK2
Compact single-operator conductivity meter with a short intercoil spacing, purpose-built for shallow near-surface investigation.
New Refurbished Absolute Certified Surplus
About the Geonics EM38-MK2
The EM38-MK2 shares the EM31's working principle but uses a much shorter 1 m intercoil spacing, trading depth for shallow-target resolution. It measures both apparent conductivity and the in-phase (susceptibility) component simultaneously, in either vertical or horizontal dipole orientation.
It is the standard instrument for archaeological prospection, soil salinity and moisture mapping in precision agriculture, and other near-surface environmental studies where the target lies within the top metre or two of ground.
| Specification | Value |
