## Condition Tiers

PartnerGeometrics grades every instrument into one of four condition tiers. This is the core organizing concept of the business — see [/conditions/] for full detail.

- **New** — Factory-new, sealed instruments with full OEM warranty, latest firmware, and factory calibration certificate.
- **Refurbished** — Used equipment that has been cleaned, had worn parts replaced, mechanically inspected, and function-tested against factory specification. Limited PartnerGeometrics warranty. Not necessarily recalibrated against a traceable reference standard.
- **Absolute Certified** — PartnerGeometrics' premium certified-used tier. Full bench inspection plus recalibration against ISO 17025-traceable reference standards, with a calibration certificate issued at handover. Near-new performance at a lower cost than New. (Note: this is a condition/quality-tier name, distinct from the technical term "absolute encoder"/"absolute measurement.")
- **Surplus** — Decommissioned or excess inventory, sold functional and as-is. Not calibrated or warrantied unless stated. Lowest cost; suited to spare parts or non-critical use.
