About the Crone Geophysics PEM Transmitter
Crone's PEM (Pulse Electromagnetic) system was the first commercially available time-domain EM system when introduced in the early 1970s, and the surface transmitter remains a core component of ground-based massive-sulphide and conductor exploration programmes today. It generates the primary field pulse that induces a decaying secondary response in subsurface conductors, subsequently measured by the paired PEM receiver.
It is deployed as part of a full PEM survey system alongside the digital receiver, typically for base-metal and massive-sulphide exploration in mineral-rich terrain.
