Geonics EM34-3
Two-person terrain conductivity meter with three selectable coil spacings, for deeper geological and groundwater survey than boom-mounted instruments can reach.
New Refurbished Absolute Certified Surplus
About the Geonics EM34-3
The EM34-3 separates the transmitter and receiver coils into two independently carried units connected by a reference cable, operated by two people. This lets the coil separation be set to 10, 20, or 40 m, giving the operator control over survey depth — deeper than the fixed-boom EM31 can reach — at the cost of needing a second operator and more time per station.
It is a standard tool for mapping deeper groundwater plumes, saline intrusion, fracture zones, and regional geological structure, where the EM31's ~6 m depth ceiling is insufficient but a full resistivity survey would be slower to run.
