AGI Sting R1
The Sting R1 is the discontinued single-channel earth resistivity meter that preceded AGI's SuperSting line, first field-tested in October 1994. Paired with the original Swift automatic multi-electrode switch box, it established the automated-array survey workflow AGI's later systems still build on.
Refurbished Absolute Certified Surplus
This model has been discontinued by the manufacturer. PartnerGeometrics sources it through the used and refurbished market — available as Refurbished, Absolute Certified, or Surplus only.
About the AGI Sting R1
The Sting R1 was Advanced Geosciences Inc.'s original portable earth resistivity meter, first tested in the field in October 1994 as the instrument that established the company's electrical resistivity imaging business — later evolving into the SuperSting product line still sold today. It's a single-channel instrument, addressing up to 56 electrodes through a Sting switch box and Swift automatic-switching box, and supports the standard array types: Pole-Pole, Schlumberger, Dipole-Dipole, and Wenner.
Because it predates AGI's current SuperSting/MiniSting range by roughly three decades, the Sting R1 is no longer in production and only available through the secondhand equipment market. Working units still see service in teaching programs, budget-constrained field campaigns, and as a source of donor components for AGI switch-box hardware.
