LaCoste & Romberg Model D Gravimeter

A compact, high-precision mechanical relative gravimeter built on the same zero-length-spring principle as the Model G, developed for microgravity and geodetic work requiring finer resolution over a narrower range.

This model has been discontinued by the manufacturer. PartnerGeometrics sources it through the used and refurbished market — available as Refurbished, Absolute Certified, or Surplus only.

About the LaCoste & Romberg Model D Gravimeter

The Model D shares the Model G's zero-length spring sensor design and manual null-balance reading method, but is built and calibrated for finer resolution over a reduced measuring range — the classic instrument of choice for microgravity monitoring, engineering and geotechnical gravity surveys, and applications where the Model G's worldwide range was unnecessary and finer sensitivity was preferred.

Both the Model G and Model D remain documented in the manufacturer's original instruction manuals still referenced by working geophysicists, and units continue to be serviced, recalibrated, and traded on the secondary market.
