About the DUALEM-4
The DUALEM-4 belongs to DUALEM's original conductivity-meter lineup (DUALEM-1, DUALEM-2, DUALEM-4), which established the company's signature dual-geometry approach: perpendicular (PRP) and horizontal co-planar (HCP) receiver coils at a single fixed transmitter-receiver separation, allowing two depths of investigation to be sampled simultaneously from one pass rather than requiring separate soundings at different coil spacings. With its 4 m separation, the DUALEM-4 provides dual-depth readings at approximately 2 m and 6 m, positioning it for mid-depth agricultural, geotechnical, and hydrological survey work.
DUALEM's current product range extends this concept into the S-series and multi-coil configurations (1S, 2S, 21S, 421S, 642S), offering finer depth resolution and more configurations from a single instrument. The DUALEM-4 remains a solid, functional mid-depth conductivity meter and continues to be sourced through the used-equipment market.
