About the Zeiss Eclipse
The Eclipse is an earlier-generation Zeiss bridge CMM, produced before the current Contura/Prismo/Accura naming convention. Like other legacy Zeiss machines of its era, it appears regularly in the used-equipment market as facilities upgrade to current-generation multisensor CMMs.
Machines of this vintage are typically fitted with older-generation probe heads (commonly an ST-type touch-trigger probe) and are best suited to buyers prioritizing acquisition cost over the latest scanning-probe capability.
