Grade B is Starrett's toolroom specification, intended for production checking work distributed throughout the shop rather than the calibration lab itself. Superior Red granite offers durability and a lower cost point than the Crystal Pink laboratory-grade material.
Many facilities run several Grade B plates on the shop floor for routine checks, backed by a single higher-grade reference plate in the calibration lab.
