About the Marine Magnetics Explorer Marine Magnetometer
The Explorer is Marine Magnetics' compact marine magnetometer, reengineered for neutral buoyancy so it can follow an AUV's path through the water column without sinking or floating away from the vehicle. At roughly 4.5 kg wet weight, it is positioned as the smallest high-sensitivity magnetometer in its class.
It can be powered from a single car battery for extended deployments (rated around 200 hours), making it well suited to long-duration AUV or small-vessel survey missions where payload weight and power budget are tightly constrained.
