About the Faro Laser Tracker ION
The Laser Tracker ION was positioned as FARO's long-range tracker within the pre-Vantage generation, aimed at large-volume applications such as aircraft assembly and shipbuilding where extended measurement range was the priority over portability. It shares its core tracking architecture with the X and Xi models from the same era.
ION units are still found in service today and remain a cost-effective route into long-range laser tracking for buyers upgrading from hand-tool or portable-arm-only measurement workflows.
