About the GSSI SIR-2000
The SIR-2000 was GSSI's control unit generation prior to the SIR-3000, using the same Collect menu structure and workflow later carried forward into GSSI's subsequent platforms. It drives the radar pulse generation and captures, digitizes, and displays reflected signals from a connected GSSI antenna in real time on its built-in screen.
Though no longer manufactured, well-maintained SIR-2000 units remain functional and are still found in active use, particularly where an operator has an existing library of compatible antennas and wants a lower-cost single-channel unit for straightforward utility, geology, or archaeology survey work.
