Scintrex CG-3 Autograv
The original microprocessor-based Scintrex Autograv, introduced in 1984 — the instrument that established the automated relative-gravimeter product line later continued by the CG-5 and CG-6.
This model has been discontinued by the manufacturer. PartnerGeometrics sources it through the used and refurbished market — available as Refurbished, Absolute Certified, or Surplus only.

About the Scintrex CG-3 Autograv
The CG-3 Autograv was Scintrex's first microprocessor-controlled relative gravimeter, bringing automated reading and data logging to a field long dominated by manually-read mechanical instruments such as the LaCoste & Romberg Model G. It uses the same fused-quartz spring sensor lineage carried forward into every later Scintrex Autograv model. A large number of CG-3 units remain in service or in storage at survey companies, universities, and government geological surveys decades after production ended, and continue to be serviced and recalibrated rather than replaced outright.
Many CG-3 units were later factory-upgraded by Scintrex to CG-3M specification (see related model below); unmodified original CG-3 units are the less common of the two on the used market today.
