About the Mahr Perthometer M1
The Perthometer M1 was Mahr's basic-model portable roughness instrument, determining core parameters (Ra, Rz, Rmax, RPc) to DIN EN ISO/ASME standards for shop-floor use — the entry point of the Perthometer range that preceded today's MarSurf series.
Though discontinued, Perthometer M1 units remain common in the used-instrument market and can be serviced and recalibrated, offering a low-cost route to a working portable roughness tester.
