Mount Sopris Instruments QL40-CAL
A 3-arm mechanical caliper probe that produces a continuous log of borehole diameter, used to assess well construction and correct other logs for hole-size effects.
New Refurbished Absolute Certified Surplus
About the Mount Sopris Instruments QL40-CAL
The three independently-actuated arms track the borehole wall as the probe is winched up or down, producing a continuous diameter trace that reveals washouts, collapse zones, and casing/screen intervals.
Caliper data is also used to correct density, neutron, and other logs whose response is sensitive to borehole diameter, making the QL40-CAL a near-universal companion tool in a logging run.
