Sercel 408UL Land Acquisition System
The 408UL was Sercel's land seismic acquisition system preceding the 428XL, deployed on thousands of exploration surveys worldwide. Sercel's own history describes the 428XL as built on "the mature technology, reliability and high efficiency of the 408UL" — and the two systems remain field-compatible.
This model has been discontinued by the manufacturer. PartnerGeometrics sources it through the used and refurbished market — available as Refurbished, Absolute Certified, or Surplus only.

About the Sercel 408UL Land Acquisition System
The 408UL was Sercel's mainstream cabled land seismic acquisition system for large-channel-count exploration surveys, preceding the current 428XL. It remains one of the most widely fielded land systems in the industry's history, and its field cabling and acquisition modules are directly compatible with the 428XL — a factor that keeps a healthy secondhand market active for the platform among exploration and geotechnical contractors upgrading their fleets.
PartnerGeometrics sources 408UL systems and compatible field hardware from decommissioned survey-company inventory. Because it shares cabling and field-module compatibility with the 428XL, it remains a practical option for crews standardizing on Sercel's land acquisition ecosystem at a lower entry cost than new equipment.
