About the Geometrics G-882 Marine Magnetometer
The G-882 is a cesium-vapor total-field magnetometer housed in a torpedo-shaped towfish for marine deployment. It is one of the most widely deployed marine magnetometers in the offshore survey industry, used across pipeline route clearance, UXO screening ahead of offshore construction, and wreck/archaeology survey.
Its low noise floor and high sample rate make it well suited to detecting small ferrous targets at typical marine tow depths, and it is frequently paired with side-scan sonar for combined geophysical survey spreads.
